Chattanooga, TN
Mid-South Region - What We Offer:

The Mid-South Region is based in Chattanooga, TN.  Harvest USA Mid-South is strategically located to reach out to churches and individuals within a 3-hour driving radius from Chattanooga.

We Offer Direct Help for Men, Women, and Families
We serve people struggling with or impacted by all kinds of sexual brokenness issues (pornography, sexual addictions, homosexuality, etc). We offer a safe and knowledgable place to talk about these struggles, where mercy, forgiveness, truth, and practical wisdom is applied to help the struggler or the person impacted by another's struggles to move forward in hope and restoration.

We Help Churches Establish Groups for Strugglers:
We have helped several churches in the Mid-South Region to start struggler support groups (for men, women and wives of husbands who are strugglers).  Our ministry purpose is to equip the church to minister to sexually broken people (Christians and non-Christians).  Talk to us about how we might be able to help your church start groups in your congregation or community.

We Speak, Teach, and Train Churches and Individuals on all aspects of Sexual Brokenness:
The church, in general, has avoided talking about or teaching a sound world-view of biblical sexuality.  Mostly the church has been reactionary rather than pro-active in this area. There is a great need to present “the full counsel of God” (Acts 20:27) on all sexual matters facing Christians today –– to counter lies with the truth and mercy of the gospel.  Harvest USA is able to teach a variety of workshops, seminars, Sunday school presentations and presentations to church leaders, youth groups, men's and women's groups, small groups, youth pastors/leaders, etc.  By working hand-in-hand with local churches, Harvest USA wants to see Christians equpped in the area of sexual discipleship.

Harvest USA also helps churches establish sexual brokenness ministry. Through practical-oriented training presentations and seminars Harvest USA seeks to fill that gap in “equipping the saints for [sexual brokenness] ministry” (Ephesians 4:11) so that local churches can offer gracious, life-on-life ministry through mentoring or small group ministry to sexual strugglers seeking repentance and restoration.

Mid-South Bible Presentations and Seminiars

Biblical Presentations and Seminars:

1-hour Presentations that are ideal for Sunday School classes, men's and women's groups, parent classes and youth groups.

Church-Wide Presentations

Sex is God’s Idea – and He Has Something to Say about It!

When churches speak about sex it's usually about what is wrong with it.  But when we understand God’s design for sex, presented positively, we can learn to live within His gracious boundaries and enjoy the gift as it was intended.

How Bad Is It? Pornified  in Church

How widespread is pornography use in the Church?  Why are so many professing Christians caught up in porn and engaging in other sexual sins?  What we think is "out there in the world" is also right within our own faith communities.  This class presents an effective argument for raising awareness and laying out some broad strokes for the church to effectively address it.

Where Sexual Struggles and Sin Comes From?

Sexual struggles don’t just come “out of the blue.” They can arise from a tangle of past and present issues in a person's life. This presentation examines the seed and root causes of patterns of sexual sin –– how each of us is “like a tree” (Psalm 1, Jeremiah 17) that grows in one direction or another.  Understanding how to trace these struggles to deeper issues is a pathway to hope and change.

Breaking the Cycle of Sexual Struggles and Sin

Sexual struggles happen for a reason. People get caught up in sexual struggles and sin as a way to "make life work" for them.  But then it takes over.  What is it that makes pornography and other sexual sin so attractive and compelling?  This class briefly explores the spiritual, emotional and physical dimensions of sexual addictive behavior and lays the foundation for how the church community can work to address it and overcome it.

Understanding Homosexuality: Reaching Out with Truth and Mercy

There is no more controversial or explosive topic in the church today than this one.  This class explores the current research on the origins of homosexuality as well as presents a compelling argument for the historic Christian position that is as relevant today as it has been for thousands of years.  It also argues for a truth-filled and mercy-drenched approach to those who struggle with same-sex attraction.

Responding to the allure of ‘Pro-Gay’ Theology

Many Christians are confused by pro-gay advocates claiming that one can be actively homosexual and be a Christian.  These advocates even use Scripture to argue this new perspective, causing a good deal of confusion even in evangelical churches.   In order to respond biblically and effectively to these arguments, one needs to understand the deeper issues behind how Scripture is used in this battle.

Being The Community that Restores All Kinds of Sexual Strugglers

The church is called to shepherd her people, but too often those who struggle with sexual sin are ignored or sent away.  How can God's people be salt and light to those in their midst who live in the shadows of the church because of their guilt and shame?

Parents

Raising Sexually Healthy Kids in a Sexually Broken World

Parents need more guidance than ever in this sexually-charged world, and they need this guidance coming from the church.  This class will lay out the foundation of how the church community can work together with parents in this critical area.  It will also include some ways parents can and should talk to their kids about sex.

Grace-Based Mentoring of Teens

“You just wouldn’t understand!” Parents and youth workers need wisdom to overcome such typical emotional walls. How do you get youth to open up and talk about their sexual struggles?  Shaping a teen's sexual character is a subject that is largely ignored by the church and by many parents, but is needed to guide them in living biblically and keeping them from becoming ensared in sexual brokenness.

Men

Attacking ‘The Playboy Mentality’ as a Band of Brothers in Christ

This presentation discusses how men can learn to be honest about their sexual struggles and be a gracious accountability group to help shepherd one another in sexual integrity.

Women

Protecting Your Family From Porn: What You Need to Know About What You Don’t Want to Talk About

Wives and mothers are often the one's in the family that sense that something is wrong, but they can't quite put their finger on what it is.  This presentation discusses how wives and mothers can take steps to address hidden struggles and be pro-active in this area.

Youth

Who Defines ‘True Love,’ ‘Safe Sex,’ & ‘How Far is Too Far’?

Youth today are bombarded with messages about sex.  But the church is an environment that is largely silent on this issue, leaving youth ill-equipped to handle the sexual messages and pressures all around them.  This discussion-based presentation challenges youth to understand and embrace God's design for sexuality.  (Most of the above presentations can be modified for a Youth version).
